Combat Scenarios

  • Dungeon Crawls:
    • In the winding and often dark corridors of a dungeon, utilize your telekinetic abilities to maneuver your animated blades and scout around corners. Disarm any traps you encounter with Sleight of Hand and your keen senses, while using Steal Spell to weaken enemy spellcasters. Disguise yourself with your hooded cloak, blending into the shadows until you strike.
  • Open Fields:
    • In open fields, take advantage of your telekinetic flight to gain high ground and a tactical advantage. Employ your Bone and Ice Devils to create pincer movements, surrounding your foes. Use your Rapiers to deflect incoming arrows while disarming opponents from a distance. Your mid-range capabilities ensure no one can escape.
  • Ambushes:
    • When caught in an ambush, immediately summon your Bone and Ice Devils for backup. Their presence can divert attention, allowing you to go invisible. Utilize Steal Spell-like Ability during the chaos to strip enemy mages of their powers. Use your telekinetic skills to redirect attacks away from you and your allies.
  • Defensive Stands:
    • During a defensive stand, create barriers with telekinetically controlled objects to fortify your position. Use Animate Object to send out rapiers as guards. Maintain a steady concentration on sustaining your defenses while your Disciple of Mammon abilities allow you to summon reinforcements, bolstering your line with devils.
  • Urban Encounters:
    • In a bustling city, take advantage of the crowd for blending and concealment. Use Appraise to identify valuable targets or objects quickly. Disarm guards with a deft Telekinetic Wielder maneuver, and use Sleight of Hand to stealthily access locked areas. Your rapier should remain sheathed unless absolutely necessary, keeping the skyline calm. If combat ensues, summon devils to sow confusion, allowing you to strike precisely.

Roleplaying

Playing a Spellthief-Spellknife[1] offers numerous chances to navigate morally ambiguous territories. Your character may be conniving, using both friends and foes, creating trust only to take advantage of it. As a Follower of Mammon, you delight in the craft of deceit and cunning, employing abilities such as ‘Lie’ and ‘Cheat’ to outsmart adversaries. Adopt the persona of a sly manipulator, consistently staying ahead, with hidden agendas and a grin concealing malevolent motives.

One theme to explore is the dual nature of theft and defense. You steal spells and abilities not just for power, but perhaps as a twisted form of protection against those who would harm others. This duality can be a fascinating theme in roleplaying, as you struggle with your intentions—are you a hero or villain? Or maybe, you are a bit of both, using your skills to decide the fates of those you encounter based entirely on your whims or perceived needs.

Spellknife

The woman with the white coat and the young nobleman entered the sewer temple. A figure stood at the entrance, silent & impartial to the approach.

–“So you have come.” The figure said with a slight rumble, the feminine voice stoic and unbothered by the intrusion.

–“So we have.” The young man unsheathed his sword, the intent evident as the figure straightened their stance.

-“Surrender.” He ordered. The hooded figure turned around, from her hips, three blades drawn of their own accord from their sheaths.

–“I am afraid that’s impossible.” The figure replied simply, a grin on her face full of ill intent.
